It’s All About the Heart

Vulnerability.

While Brene Brown has done a PHENOMENAL job over years making the idea of vulnerability less taboo, the truth of the matter is that vulnerability is still a thing many of us run from like it’s a ravenous lion chasing us in the middle of the jungle.

And it’s not JUST about choosing vulnerability as we interact with others. If we’re completely honest, many of us even struggle to be vulnerable with ourselves. We are taught to do everything possible to avoid judgment, worry, disappointment, etc. In that, we slowly disconnect from the place of vulnerability within that is needed to grow.

You see, as we close ourselves off from vulnerability, we are also closing ourselves off from the part of our body that holds the wisdom, healing and clarity needed to create and live our lives in ways that feel fully aligned with all of who we are….

The heart.

In order to be fully connected to our authentic voice, we have to be fully connected to our heart. This connection opens the door to be curious about your needs, hopes & dreams; understand how you communicate with yourself and others; and trust ourselves in the midst of anything that comes our way.

When we have spent years disconnected, the idea of reconnecting can feel daunting. But it is as simple as starting with your breath – taking a few moments each day to put your right hand over your heart, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and then say something like, “My heart is open to give and receive love, wisdom, clarity and support freely, today and every day.”

As you (re)connect to your heart, it is not about doing it perfectly or in a specific way, it is about letting the Universe know that you are open and ready as everything else falls into place.
