I Thought This Would Be Easier - 3 Steps to Uncover Life-changing Lessons

Have you ever said to yourself some semblance of, "I thought this would be easier"? 

In this week's Miracle Monday message I shared the importance of shifting that feeling from a space that may appears dark or hopeless to a space that reminds us to look up and see the light at the end of the tunnel. 

How do we do this? By choosing to take the time to explore the lessons to be found in the midst of the challenges. But, it isn't always easy to connect to those lessons. Below are a few quick tips to help you move toward connecting to the lessons that will propel you to continued growth.

Get quiet. It is in those stressful times that we feel most busy, our minds frenetically working to address what is going on in a way that will (hopefully) make the heaviness pass. But, this is when we need to get quiet. In the silence, there are answers. Find the quiet space(s) that work best for you. For some, that may be in nature. For others, it could be in the early hours of the morning when it feels like no one is awake but you and the Divine. And for others it could be in the car before walking into work for the day. No matter where it is, just remember the space is for you.

Tune in. We all want answers to something. The challenge arises because the answers do not always come in the package or way we thought they would arrive. When we tune into the world around us, we are better able to see the perfectly nuanced messages that land right before our eyes. As you're walking into the office or around the block, put the distractions away and allow yourself to be connected to the air, the sound of the birds, the wind, etc. The more we tune in, the more we release and make way for connection.

Remember the good. This is not an easy one. Remembering the good, in the midst of pain or difficulty can be as easy as pushing a square peg into a round hole. But there is always something to be grateful for and that gratitude births healing. Yes. What are the (seemingly) simple things in your life that you can offer gratitude for? Safe travels? Your breath? A warm home? Sunshine? Gratitude opens our heart to more than we could imagine.
